چکیده

A signal subspace method is derived for the active array localization of point targets whose collective scattering is Born-approximable. The method enables the localization of up to N(N + 1)/2 − 1 targets from a single snapshot of the multistatic response matrix (MRM) measured by an active coincident array of N co-located transmitters and receivers. Furthermore, when applied to MRM data gathered using more general, noncoincident arrays of N elements, the method can be used to locate up to N − 1 targets. The paper includes computer simulations illustrating the theory.

Single-snapshot Signal Subspace Methods for Active Target Location: Part I: Multiple Scattering Case

This two-part paper investigates two signal subspace methods for the localization of a number of scatterers (targets) whose dimensions are small relative to the probing wavelength from active antenna array data. They are the timereversal imaging with multiple signal classification (MUSIC) approach, and a new signal subspace method that is based on high-dimensional parameter search (a highdimens...

Time-reversal and Signal Subspace Methods for Imaging and Inverse Scattering of Multiply Scattering Targets

In this work the inverse scattering problem of estimating the locations and scattering strengths of a number of multiply scattering point targets in the near or far field from single-snapshot active antenna array data is investigated with the aid of two signal subspace approaches: Time-reversal-based methods with an emphasis on time-reversal multiple signal classification (MUSIC) and a new sign...

Subspace-Based Localization and Inverse Scattering of Multiply Scattering Point Targets

The nonlinear inverse scattering problem of estimating the locations and scattering strengths or reflectivities of a number of small, point-like inhomogeneities (targets) to a known background medium from single-snapshot active wave sensor array data is investigated in connection with time-reversal multiple signal classification and an alternative signal subspace method which is based on search...

Efficiency of Target Location Scenarios in the Multi-Transmitter Multi-Receiver Passive Radar

Multi-transmitter multi-receiver passive radar, which locates target in the surveillance area by the reflected signals of the available opportunistic transmitter from the target, is of interest in many applications. In this paper, we investigate different signal processing scenarios in multi-transmitter multi-receiver passive radar. These scenarios include decentralized processing of reference ...

MUSIC for Single-Snapshot Spectral Estimation

Single-snapshot line spectral estimation is carried out with one compressed sensing technique, Band-excluding Locally Optimized Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (BLOOMP), and two subspace-based methods, Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) and Estimation of Signal Parameters via Rotational Invariance Techniques (ESPRIT). Simulations show that for separation greater than 3 RL, BLOOMP is the best pe...
